So what's going on with Foundations?
We've heard the question often recently, and for every question asked, we've heard at least two rumors. So let's clear some things up.
There will be a Foundations 2009.
It will be July 29 through August 2.
It will not be what you expect.
There is so much more to tell, and we'll be releasing details this week at our Wednesdays at the Pecks gathering at 7:30PM on, uhm, Wednesday at the, uh, Pecks. If you need the address, send me a direct message.

MC from OKC coming to CLC. Huh?
The Master's Commission team from Oklahoma City is coming to Dryden as part of their spring tour. They'll be doing ministry at CLCS and some work around the property during the day on Wednesday. Wednesday night they'll be doing a special presentation at CLC. They'll be doing some drama and dance as well as sharing personal stories.
Thing's kick off at 7:00 PM......and there will be food. Hope to see you there, and you're welcome to bring a friend or three.

It's Beth's birthday
Today is Beth's birthday. I'm on a trip in Austin, TX and Beth has had a couple rough days. If you can, wish her happy birthday. There is group tonight, and I know she'd be blessed by a cake, brownies, cookies, whatever and some celebratory happiness.

So what's it worth to you?
Retreat 2009 is coming up in a week and a half. The retreat is about stepping aside, slowing down, spending time with God. Our theme this year is "Coming to God." We'll look at how we approach to God, how God sees us and spend some time looking at the very basics of prayer.
One of our desires is to never let money get in the way of ministry. There are always economic realities to what we do, but we do our best to manage that part so it doesn't interfere with what God wants to do in us.
The last few years we've gone with a "pay what you can afford" approach. We've only ever done limited fundraising, so in previous years the church has covered any gaps. That options just isn't available this year, so we need to do things differently.
We have a limited amount of scholarship funds available. If you cannot afford the full registration cost, please contact us. We know this is a special time, and we want as many people as possible to attend.
Maybe I sound like any other youth pastor or preacher, but I don't care. I'm sensing something brewing. Our Father is at work in this retreat. It's about restoration and being able to be comfortable in our own skin and in His hands. Be ready. Be watching. Be open. There's a Father who loves you and longs to share life with you.

Christmas Eve
We're doing the Christmas eve service again this year. This year's service will start at 6 PM. Outside of candles and Silent Night, we're open to your suggestions about what we should do.

We're having a Christmas party on Saturday, December 20 from 6PM to whenever. We'll hang out, eat, listen to music, watch a Christmas classic and exchange gifts.
Here's the catch. You can't buy a gift. You have to bring a gift, but it has to be something you already have, something you want to re-gift or something you make. If you make a gift, you have to already have the supplies to make the gift. You can also give a gift of your time or...I don't know. Get creative. You just can't spend any money on the gift.

NoiseTrade has made it through to the finals of the Open Web Awards in the music category against two popular online music services, Pandora and Last.fm. I'd really love to see NoiseTrade win because I love co-founder Derek Webb, I think it's a great concept and it's been implemented really well. NoiseTrade is innovative, and they haven't stopped innovating.
NoiseTrade is a great company co-founded by musician Derek Webb after he gave away over 80,000 copies of his Mockingbird album online in an effort to generate new fans. MPT is a great writer. He'll make you laugh. He'll make you cry. He'll make you mad. But in the end you'll be glad you read the book.

Pray for David
I've been suffering with a swollen foot this week. It's very uncomfortable, makes it hard to sleep and slows me down a lot. The doctor says it's gout. I'm on my second medication for it since the first anti-inflamatory chose to act as a pro-inflamatory instead. But the second med doesn't seem to be doing much either. So, pray for me. Thank you much.
